Set in Motion
1 Peter 1:1-2 (NIV) “1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been CHOSEN according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, TO BE OBEDIENT to Jesus Christ…” This was the passage I was to meditate on as I started my quiet time last Jan. 8, 2018. Those words struck me: “…chosen…to be obedient to Jesus Christ.” And because we were starting the year, I ended my quiet time with this prayer: “Father, I don’t know what You have in store for me and my family this year. But whatever it is, help me to obey Your call.” As is always the case, the Lord made a way to test that resolve because that prayer was uttered in the context of what I knew at that point: 1. that my contract with CCF (our home church) was ending on April 15, 2018 with the possibility of being renewed; 2. that God was reviving in my & Lyn’s heart His work ...
